Part one of my "How to Grade on Google Classroom" posts was a doozy that explained how to grade assignments on Google Classroom.
Now it's time to tackle the giant of grading Google Forms... Starting with auto-graded Google Forms.
It's sort of silly to say that you have to grade something that's auto-graded, but you DO have to click a button, so there's a little work involved.
Unfortunately, I can't actually assign my Cats quiz so the screenshots for how to import grades are going to be from another test I've given.

| Unfortunately, grading on Forms means you won't be using the 5,000,000 pens you bought for grading. It makes me sad, too. |

Grading Auto-Graded Google Forms
In my "Creating an Auto-Graded Multiple-Choice Google Form" post, I walked you through how to create a quiz about Cats.Unfortunately, I can't actually assign my Cats quiz so the screenshots for how to import grades are going to be from another test I've given.

| It's okay, Grizabella. I feel the same way. |
Importing Grades
Our quiz is set up, assigned, and has been answered-- so, we go back to the Google Classroom page.
On the Classroom page, navigate to your quiz assignment and then click "view assignment." It will take you back to the "student work" page.
- Double-check that your points match with your form. If they don't, whatever you import will override what you've got here.
- This is the "import grades" button. Clicking it imports the grades from the auto-graded form. This button will only show up if you've posted the Google Form as a QUIZ ASSIGNMENT on the Classwork page.
- This shows you who's finished the Form and who hasn't. You can import grades even if it's not 100% submitted.
- This is where imported grades will be. They will be called "drafts" until you click return at the top to return the grades to students.
That's it!
If your Google Form included open-ended questions, you're going to want to keep reading this series because my next post will explain how to grade open-ended Google Forms.
Hope this helped!
Until next time,
K. Hanlin

This was very helpful but the quiz that I am grading was done with the Dropdown format rather than multiple choice and I do not see a button that says "import grades". I really need help when you get a chance.
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm not sure who this is (it's posted as unknown), but if you don't see the "import grades" button, then you likely posted the form as an "assignment" instead of a "quiz assignment." If you did that, you can grade it the same way as outlined on my blog here: https://kristinhanlin.blogspot.com/2020/04/grading-on-google-classroom-part-three.html
